Battlegrounds

Who remembers playing 21 like it was March Madness. Get to 20, miss the last shot and have to go back to 15. No fouls, no real out of bounds, just an every player for themselves battle to 21 then run it back!

21 was different from how you play king of the court now. In 21, you had to play defense, you had to box out because you didn't just get the ball because your opponent missed a shot. They could get offensive rebound, 2nd, 3rd opportunities to score so you had to compete. These were the BATTLEGROUNDS. You learned how to play through contact, how to hustle, and how to win or take a loss.
